Hi people. My name is Phil McMillan. I’m the publisher of Baby Boomer Baloney, and I have a great time bringing these posts to you every day. These daily posts are mostly about Baby Boomer humor and those types of things that make us Boomers laugh. This is all for fun, grins and giggles.

We will show funny video clips, music videos featuring our boomer music, funny stories, trivia challenges, inspiring stories, political humor, occasional comments from me and other parts of our past that will be fun to look back on.

We will have some material about our present day world as well. There is no sense in passing up today’s humor that we Baby Boomers would enjoy.

I am also the publisher of Baby Boomers Laugh and Learn Membership site. This blog has Boomer humor and information posts on relevant Boomer issues such as social security, retirement, children and grandchildren, health, diet, caring for our parents, and much more. I also provide a weekly video where I discuss Boomers in the news.

Baby Boomers Laugh and Learn Membership Site will also provide interesting information on valuable links for Boomers concerning travel, health product choices, medicine, exercise, and many other items of interest for all of us Baby Boomers. I want it to be a type of “one stop Boomer blog” where you can get all the important information you need to stay on top of our Boomer world.

So, why a blog for Baby Boomers?

I love to share memories by writing about things that have happened in my life with my peers. My peers, of course, are fellow Baby Boomers who have lived through many of the same experiences and the same history. I want and need to share humor and memories… to laugh and remember.

I feel like these daily blogs are my contribution to my fellow man. Baby Boomer Baloney, by the way, recently celebrated its two year anniversary as an active blog site. The traffic for this site is now 3000 to 5000 readers per day two years after it started. My thanks to each of you.

How does Baby Boomer Baloney benefit the reader?

I want this site to enrich your life with health and humor. Laughing is good for the body as well as the soul. Enjoy. I want you to look forward to coming to this site regularly… even every day. I will have updates daily that you can count on to get that “humor fix” your mind and body should crave. For those of you looking for more in depth Boomer information to complement your need for laughing your buns off, join my membership site and get 30 days of free access while you check it out.

Let’s have some real fun with this, OK?

This site was referred to me by a friend of mine. I am a boomer as well and a veteran journalist, who has spent more than 25 years in radio and television news. I’m always looking to see what other boomers are talking about.

    Hi John,

Yes, I have a handful of ideas for anyone looking to start a boomer blog. First, zero in on the topics you really enjoy writing or talking about. “Baby Boomers” is too big of a niche.

Second, be realistic. It will take time to develop a following. If you are looking to create an income source with your blog that will take time as well. Most bloggers I have researched that are honest with the public will tell you to expect a year to get a nice core group of readers to come to your blog on a regular basis (500 to 1000).

It will take two to three years to get any meaningful income from a blog. You must have patience.

I would tell everyone to read a free report on “blogging” from Yaro Starak that will answer questions and give advice on how to start a blog. Very informative. I have a banner ad on my Baby Boomer Baloney blog site that anyone can use to get this free report from Yaro. Just go to (http://www.babyboomerbaloney.com/) and click on the “Blog Mastermind” banner on the right column.

    Hope this helps, John.

    Hi Phil,

    This blog’s
    a great idea!

    What’s life
for, if not to laugh; sometimes even in its face?

    Certainly, these
‘interesting times’ we Boomers find ourselves in are not what we’ve spent our
lives working and planning for. Seems the GFC has wreaked such havoc that many
of us are now reduced to ‘just wishin, and
    hopin, and thinkin, and prayin’.

But, if that has a familiar ring
to it, (and it should; Dusty Springfield had a hit with that song in 1964), then
it brings me to the point of this comment:

Music is such a great way to bring
back the great memories and joys of an earlier time, and let’s be honest, life
may have recently gone pear-shaped for many of us, but we’ve lived in the best
of times, and we’ll never be too old to enjoy the music we all grew up with.
Besides, it ain’t over yet. Rock on!, I say.

Inspired by that, I’ve just written
    a short story built
entirely from classic song titles and lyrics; which provides a fun test of your
musical knowledge, (208 songs, 122 artists); and added 14 sensational archival videos,
to take us Baby Boomers back to when rock and roll was young. And so were we.

    Hope you don’t
mind me posting the link here. But it’s so in tune with your theme.
