I’ve Always Been an Optimistic Baby Boomer… but Our Government is Trying My Patience

Now that it looks like the Senate Health Plan will go through, I guess we can only hope for the best. But I have to tell you that this bunch is starting to worry me.

They refuse to listen to us. This plan is not about health care reform… it’s about a political power grab. I’m sure there are a few good elements to this bill but all of the opinion comments and articles from people that know the medical industry are very negative.

Remember when the discussion started about health care reform? We the people clamored for lower costs, portability, no pre-existing conditions, and coverage for every American. So, what are we getting?

Our premium costs for our coverages are going to increase two to three times higher than what we pay right now. There will still be roughly 10 million people that are not insured in this country. And, there is now a good chance that several companies will have to refer their employees to the government pay option.

We have the best health care system in the world and it is about to be gutted. Our system needs fixing but why are we throwing the whole industry under the bus? This new bill has so many negatives that people around the United States are saying “Let’s pitch this bill out and start all over.” Only 25% of the population is for this ugly pig of a bill.

First, we got stuck with a $1 trillion dollar stimulus bill. Now we are getting a health care bill that will cost us $2 – $3 trillion dollars. And, warming up in the bullpen we have “cap and trade” and the U.S. share of the “global warming hoax.”

If our Founding Fathers could see what this administration is doing, they would be spinning in their graves shouting “Who are these guys?”
